Tennis Court Resurfacing Update:

In 2013, the City solicited bids for the Carroll Park tennis courts and selected a contractor based on the bids received.  For whatever reason, the winning contractor did not sign the contract to do the work.

The Parks & Rec department has been working with USTA (United States Tennis Association) as a bid advisor and as a possible revenue source for up to a 20% grant to help pay to resurface the city tennis courts.  In order to be eligible for grant funding, we’ve needed to keep them closely involved in the bid process and follow, as best as possible, their recommendations.  We received their last input for items to watch out for and to be included in the rebid on June 3.

Considering the cycle of Council meetings, we are looking for contractor approval at their July 16 meeting.  Allowing for two weeks of bidding after a bid release of June 24, the bid due date will be July 8.  To allow for a reasonable construction window, we will be looking for a completion date of late September.
